International. IFMA Spain (Spanish Association of Facility Management) has signed a collaboration agreement with the APFM (Portuguese Association of Facility Management) with the aim of working together in the development of the sector in southern Europe and strengthening the figure of the Facility Manager in organizations, as a key profile for improving productivity and competitiveness and ensuring a much more strategic management.
Among the various actions in which they will collaborate are: the realization, promotion and dissemination of events, publications and initiatives of both Associations, the development of a professional training plan prepared jointly, the creation and dissemination of training and informative content related to the sector, as well as the participation and dissemination of the new rules that affect the activity and other technical documents etc.
The threshold of Facility Management activity in Spain and Portugal is still below countries such as the United Kingdom or the Netherlands, however, companies, increasingly, are aware of the importance of having an integral and strategic management of their properties, services and resources, trying to become a competitive advantage in the market and generating value. Proof of this is the result of the analysis of the main services that are managed in the framework of action of Facility Management, where IFMA Spain has estimated that the turnover may be higher than 70,000 million euros.
"This agreement is a fantastic opportunity to continue promoting and strengthening the activity and impact of Facility Management in both countries." The directives of both associations agree that the "cooperation and synergies between both countries will allow us to start new projects and make ourselves known in different regions".
