International. The Italian multinational Coopservice has acquired 75% of the pjc safety and cleaning group, with the main objective of positioning itself in the market and continuing with its international expansion strategy.
The company PJC Servicios de Limpieza y Mantenimiento Reunidos, dedicated to the Facility Management sector (management of buildings and their services) is in turn the owner of one hundred percent of the Alert and Control actions; Aracas SA and Aracas SL; of Hospebeca as well as Tempoplan, as reported today by the Italian company in a statement.
Coopservice had a turnover of 862 million euros in 2017 and has a workforce of close to 20,000 employees.
The PJC Group, for its part, had a turnover of around 25 million euros in 2017 and has a workforce of more than 1,000 workers.
In its international expansion strategy, Coopservice is currently analyzing possible purchase operations in the geographical area of the Middle East, according to the sources.
In the case of Grupo PJC, all its activity has been limited to the national territory of Spain, where it has been a service provider for both public bodies and private companies.
The Italian multinational is a manager of real estate activities (facility management) that includes all services related to cleaning, security or maintenance management, in addition to energy efficiency, logistics and transport or waste management, among others.
According to the sources, "until the acquisition by Coopservice, Grupo PJC Servicios de Limpieza y Mantenimiento Reunidos was part of the segment of medium-sized companies in the security and cleaning sector in Spain".
In this way, the specialization of the companies of the PJC Group Servicios de Limpieza y Mantenimiento Reunidos dedicated to the cleaning of hospital centers is one of the main fields in which important synergies are expected after their acquisition by the Italian multinational.
Coopservice already has a direct presence in four countries, Serbia, Croatia, Malta and now Spain, to which we must add another five, Albania, Brazil, Morocco, Turkey and India, in which it provides services through one of its investee companies, Servizi Italia, which is listed on the Milan Stock Exchange.
