Colombia. Indra and its comprehensive interoperability solution in the field of health gain strength in Colombia, after being part of the centralization of clinical information of patients registered in the 22 public hospitals of the capital of this country. The contract was signed with the District Health Secretariat of the Mayor's Office of Bogotá to implement Mymed Health Data.
The project, a pioneer in Latin America, allows to improve and speed up the attention to an approximate population of eight million people. Mymed Health Data is based on FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources), the latest interoperability standard developed and promoted by the international organization HL7 (Health Level Seven), responsible for some of the most widely used communications protocols in the healthcare field today.
All connected
This technology allows to integrate in a single database all the information on the health of the patient that has been registered in the systems of the different hospital centers and make it available to professionals immediately and permanently under a model of Electronic Medical Record.
It thus offers an answer to the problem currently posed by the fragmentation of information generated and guarded by multiple systems of different suppliers. The project also includes the integration of centralized appointment and prescription management for all hospitals.
Another important contribution of Mymed Health Data is the integration of a platform that allows to run applications from any manufacturer that complies with the international interoperability standard (Smart on FHIR), which facilitates the secure interaction between external applications and the data contained in electronic health record systems.
The professional thus obtains a quick and personalized response to their needs to include advanced tools that facilitate tele-assistance, the preparation of scientific and statistical works, alerts in case of contraindications or the use of clinical decision support systems.
Finally, the solution provides integration mechanisms based on International Healthcare Standards, which guarantee the secure exchange of information. It also offers capabilities to control from a single point who accesses information about the patient, what he accesses and how he accesses, while allowing the information to be visible only to the selected profiles. Indra also makes its cybersecurity team available to the project.
