Hotels.com points out that Miami, Orlando and New York are among the favorite cities for family tourism from Spain
The destinations that have experienced the greatest increases in the reservations of Spanish families during the last year are North American Orlando, Miami and Toronto are three of the favorite destinations for Spanish families worldwide Next is New York, another of the star destinations for SpaniardsThe United States has become the favorite destination for Spanish families in 2007, registering an increase in reservations in most of its cities, with Orlando, Miami and New York being the top 3 of the ranking, according to data provided by the most visited hotel reservation website in the world, Hotels.com*. The weakness of the dollar together with the varied family offer, may explain the reason for this growth.
New York has always been one of the favorite destinations of Spaniards and changes in the economy have unleashed a trend in "shopping tourism", which has triggered the reservations of tourists from Spain in the Big Apple. In the case of families, other cities have emerged as the favorites. This is the case of Walt Disney's mecca, Orlando, a fact that finds its explanation, among other factors, in the fact that it was the cheapest city in the world in accommodation in 2007. The average price of a room stood at 80 euros last year, according to the Semiannual Hotel Price Index of Hotels.com**.
While Orlando, Miami and Toronto become the three favorite destinations of Spanish families worldwide, other north American cities such as Los Angeles and Chicago, are also at the top of the list.
The popularity of these cities among Spanish families is due, in addition to the search for destinations in which to take advantage of the strength of the euro, to the variety of activities they offer for this type of public.
Orlando is known worldwide for hosting the most popular tourist attractions in the world such as Walt Disney World, Universal and Sea World. For stays in this city, Hotels.com recommended the Walt Disney World Dolphin, an accommodation specially designed for families. It is an accommodation nestled in a tropical environment, with views of a quiet lagoon and an atmosphere that invites you to relax and enjoy family life. The price for a family room starts from 61*** euros per room per night.
And for those who opt for the third star destination in the United States, taking the family to see a play on Broadway is emerging as the ideal plan. In New York, Hotels.com recommended the Milford Plaza hotel also known as "The Nana of Broadway", for its proximity to the theater area. Among the attractions in its vicinity most attractive for families is the New Victory Theatre, for its varied dance, music, puppet and circus shows. This hotel is available from 89*** euros per room per night.
