In order to rationalize the technological management and the information system, both in terms of cost reduction and in terms of improving the responsiveness and efficiency of services, Aena Airports has resorted to a consortium led by Bull with INSA.
This new contract groups seven contracts into one, thus changing to an application maintenance service model based on a Service Level Agreement with more than 40 indicators from different areas.
In this way, it is expected to guarantee the quality of service of the entire life cycle of sw applications managed under this service. Such applications are: service management indicators, resource management, application development, evolutionary maintenance, application availability and application quality assurance.
The award has been signed for one year and more than 4.5 million euros (about US$6.2 million), extendable up to 5 years.
Bull will be responsible for the management of the service and a wide range of applications, as well as much of the future developments, under a new service model. All maintenance tasks and new projects will be included within the scope of an overall budget and the obligation of a high quality service provision, supported in management by the Bull Service Center in Madrid, one of the seven Bull centers worldwide, and which has recently obtained cmmi Level 3 certification.
To achieve the objectives of cost reduction, flexibility and high quality of service, Bull will rely on the use of its industrial-scale management methods and tools, effectively tested on other large customers.
This innovative approach will allow Aena Aeropuertos to achieve significant savings of more than 40% compared to the previous seven contracts, avoid workload limitations, benefit from the agility of high value-added resources and the improvements suggested by a partner such as Bull, an expert in its business activity and information systems.
