The Costa Rica Chapter of the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (AIOP) was recently formed. This chapter was formed with the initiative of the Costa Rican Coalition of Development Initiatives (CINDE) in conjunction with Intertec International and the Tribu Group.
According to Gabriela Llobet, General Director of CINDE, the fact that Costa Rica has officially managed to have this representation in IAOP is another step on the path of growth of the Costa Rican services sector and in the positioning of the country as one of the leaders of the outsourcing industry in Latin America.
"There are few countries like ours, have managed to combine high sophistication and quality, with a wide variety of services, ranging from a Build, Operate and Transfer or BOT model to hybrid business schemes, where a company outsources a function and / or establishes its own operation of high added value," said the executive.
According to data from CINDE, of the 121 multinational service companies operating in Costa Rica, about 33% offer outsourced services to different markets around the world.
Similarly, Costa Rican capital and management companies have positioned themselves in the Latin American region and before medium-sized companies in the American continent especially, as outsourced service providers in areas such as software development, multilingual customer service, networks, computer security and corporate services, among others.
