Energy expenditure in the Klépierre Group's shopping centres was reduced by 4% between 2010 and 2012, according to company spokespersons.
The company also indicated that water consumption was also reduced in the operation of its establishments by 1% between 2011 and 2012 and greenhouse gas emissions also fell by 1% in the same period.
In this way, a statement issued by the Business Group states that these objectives, which are included in its Sustainable Development program for the period 2010 – 2015, meet a higher level than expected in terms of reducing the environmental impact on its commercial activity.
Thus, the company's establishments globally consumed a total of 356,752,144 kWh throughout this period, of which the shopping centers of the Iberian Peninsula have used 32,601,116 kWh.
Some of the actions highlighted by the company that have been important in these results are the insulation of buildings, the automation of facilities and the use of renewable energies. As well as control and awareness campaigns among employees and customers of the Group.
