Schneider Electric awarded the 2013 National Export Award

altMexico. Schneider Electric received from the President of the Mexican Republic, Enrique Peña Nieto, the 2013 National Export Award. This recognition is granted based on the appreciation of effort, perseverance, creativity, quality and innovation of the companies awarded for the solid increase and diversification of their sales of goods and services abroad.


In the case of the French multinational, it was awarded in the category of Manufacturing Industries, Maquiladoras or Export Services (Immex) for its sales and exports exceeding 500 million dollars.
 
The award ceremony took place within the framework of the XX Congress of Mexican Foreign Trade where the following were present: Enrique Peña Nieto, President of the Mexican Republic; Valentín Diez Morodo, President of the Mexican Business Council of Foreign Trade, Investment and Technology, A.C. (COMCE); José Eduardo Calzada Rovirosa, Governor of the state of Querétaro; and Ildefonso Guajardo Villarreal, Secretary of Economy.
 
Leading the national export award ceremony, the President of the Republic, Enrique Peña Nieto, affirmed that Mexico is transforming itself to become a more modern, competitive and dynamic economy; Proof of this is that in the last two decades, exports have increased significantly and have consolidated Mexico as the sixteenth exporting country worldwide.
 
During the event, the President of the Republic presented the National Export Award, in different categories, to companies and educational institutions that stood out for their export activity this year, including Schneider Electric in the category of Manufacturing Industries, Maquiladoras or Export Services (Immex).
 
"This recognition is undoubtedly a milestone for Schneider Electric, not only for our operations in Mexico but for all of North America. More than 65 years ago we started operations in Mexico and, since then, we have grown to be today one of the most important headquarters in Manufacturing and Research and Development for the Group, "said Enrique González Haas, President and CEO of Schneider Electric for Mexico, upon receiving the award. "This award is a sign of the potential of the Mexican talent that exists in the company, as well as its global collaboration capabilities that today have become part of our greatest competitive advantages," he added.
 
For his part, Sergio Barrera, Vice President of North American Manufacturing for Schneider Electric stated: "Schneider Electric is committed to Mexico, proof of this are the important investments we are making in our different headquarters in Mexico, but especially in Monterrey, where we not only have an outstanding manufacturing capacity, but with Research and Development capabilities that have helped us consolidate the company in the national energy sector and regional."
