Latin America. With a history of more than 140 years in technological innovation, Johnson Controls presented its latest security solutions during Expoconstrucción and Expodiseño 2025, one of the most relevant events for the sector in Colombia and Latin America.
As part of its involvement, the company established strategic collaborations with key entities in the construction sector, which it aspires to assist in the development and management of safer, more efficient and linked residential and commercial constructions.
An outstanding breakthrough was its integrated Complete Security system, which fuses motion, smoke, carbon monoxide and temperature sensors with automation appliances such as locks, switches and blinds, all linked through smart routines.
"Every element of the home becomes an active part of a complete security system," the company explained, presenting a solution that not only detects threats, but also allows functions to be automated to improve efficiency and comfort.
"For example, if a window is left open for too long, the system can automatically turn off the air conditioning, which prevents energy waste."
Advanced technology for homes and businesses
Among the technological innovations exhibited were:
PowerG+ Safety Devices
IQ4, IQ4 HUB and IQ4 NS smart panels
The PowerManage Remote Monitoring Platform
These solutions integrate artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things (IoT) to facilitate complete and real-time control, both in corporate environments and in homes. "Thanks to the integration of artificial intelligence, IoT and remote monitoring platforms such as PowerManage, Colombian households can now count on systems as reliable as those of a large company, but designed for day-to-day comfort," said Johnson Controls.
An opportunity for the Colombian market
Despite the fact that in developed nations more than 30% of homes already have smart security technologies, in Colombia this percentage is still low. However, the trend is growing, especially in cities such as Bogotá, Medellín and Cali, where interest in residential security and automation is booming.
"Johnson Controls, with 140 years of experience, is ready to accompany that growth, offering cutting-edge solutions that protect what matters most: people's assets and peace of mind," the company said.
According to data from Allied Market Research, smart security systems can reduce theft by 35% to 50% in well-protected environments.
High demand in strategic sectors
The solutions provided by Johnson Controls are in high demand in:
Business and commercial buildings, which need access management, video surveillance monitoring and safeguarding of resources.
Industries and factories, where operational and perimeter security is vital.
Smart residential buildings, a growing sector that requires comfort and protection in a single system.
By focusing on ease of use, connectivity and affordability, the company has been able to bring its enterprise security expertise to the home environment, helping to change the way people protect their homes and businesses.
