Likewise, 63% would leave a light on when leaving their room, and 75% consider it important to change sheets and towels daily in a hotel, but not at home. The reason, 62% of participants admit, is that they don't have to pay for it. Water use reflects this attitude: while 70% of travelers admit that they try to save as much water as possible at home, only 18% do the same in a hotel. For this reason, hotels will take a smart approach in the design of the rooms, using shampoo dispensers and conditioners, low-flow faucets in sinks and double water outlet systems or few gallons, eco-friendly materials, use of fluorescent bulbs instead of incandescents, educational programs for travelers, among others.
