Marriott International announced the appointment of Chuck Kelley as Marriott International's executive vice president for the Caribbean and Latin America region. This and other appointments are the result of the transfer of regional vice president of Sales and Marketing Dominic Sherry to a similar position in the Asia Pacific region, and the retirement of Alex Stadlin, who was Marriott's vice president of operations in Mexico, Central America and the northern cone of South America. This restructuring includes the following appointments: Andrew Houghton was promoted to Marriott International's area vice president in the Caribbean & Brazil,
Manuel Ovies, who holds Marriott International's vice president of operations in the Caribbean & Latin America, will expand his responsibilities in the region. Ovies will be responsible for operations for Central and South America (except Brazil) and John Licence was appointed vice president of sales and marketing for the region where he will be responsible for the coordination of all sales and marketing activities, as well as the development of the overall strategy for the region. This responsibility covers more than 45 hotels and resorts in the region, through seven lodging brands.
