From October 20 to 22, 2008, Monterrey will host the forty-sixth annual congress of the International Hotel and Restaurant Association, to be held at the Sheraton Ambassador Monterrey Hotel. This year the premise of the congress is not only to create value for people and society, but to know the new advances for the administration and the development of new command skills for the age of knowledge.
The congress is aimed at investors, directors, presidents of hotel and restaurant associations from different parts of the world, as well as senior officials involved in the hospitality industry. The organizers expect to have the participation of more than 400 people from Asia, the East, Europe, Africa, America. The next congresses will be held in Serbia, Croatia (2009) and Argentina (2010).
IH&RA is a non-profit organization, representative of the Hospitality Industry by the United Nations. It is made up of more than 150 associations and business and educational institutions of the tourism sector worldwide, in addition to more than 200,000 hotels and six million restaurants, which employ more than 60 million people, also contributing 960 billion dollars to the world economy.
