InterContinental Hotels Group was recognized for its Holiday Inn Express brand during the celebration of the twelfth edition of the National Franchise Award with the "Telmex Award for the Franchise with the Highest Growth of 2008", granted by the Mexican Franchise Association (AMF), in the category of franchises of more than ten million pesos of investment.The award was received by Octavio Navarro, Director of Franchise Development at IHG Mexico, on behalf of the Group. The event highlighted the investment made throughout 2008 where seven holiday inn brand hotels were opened in Campeche, Uruapan, Santa Fe Mexico City, Ciudad Juárez, Irapuato, Saltillo Aeropuerto and Toluca Airport.
IHG has achieved great success in Mexico and plans to increase its inventory with 62 hotels over the next three years, including: five Crowne Plaza® Hotels & Resorts, one IndigoTM Hotel, 15 Holiday Inn® Hotels & Resorts, 33 Holiday Inn Express®, six Staybridge Suites® and two Candlewood Suites®.
