The European firm Accor announced that it will invest US$44 million in the construction of seven hotel projects of the Ibis brand in the Central American nation, which will allow the creation of 300 direct jobs and 1,200 indirect jobs, announced the CEO of Accor Mexico, Jean Phillips Claret. Between 2009 and 2010 the official opening of the new hotels is planned, which are currently under construction in the regions of Mérida, Aguascalientes, San Luis Potosí and Tlalnepantla, State of Mexico.
The company has advanced projects in other states of that country and estimates that by 2010, the French firm will have more than 200 hotels in the Latin American region.
