An average occupancy of 66.84% obtained the hotels of Medellín, Colombia, with the realization of the IX South American Games from March 19 to 30, 2010.According to data from the Hotel Association of Colombia, Cotelco, the day of highest occupancy in Medellín was March 25 with a percentage of 84.3%, and in the municipalities near the city, where the sub-venues of the event were located, a cumulative average of 90.82% was registered, with an occupancy of 100% on March 23, demonstrating the reception that the city and the event had nationally and internationally.
Before the games began, the occupation of the city was 52.35% and at the end of the month it increased to 58.16%, presenting an increase of 5.81%, and the entry of foreigners on these dates (March 19 to 30) was 5,993.
