After closely observing the results of the Eco-efficiency and Environmental Management program that the establishments of the Hotel Union of the Principality of Asturias have implemented in the last two years in Oviedo, Spain, the Hotel Association of Colombia, Cotelco, wishes to implement this program in the Latin American country. Javier Álvarez, president of the Hotel Union of Asturias (UHPA), said that this meeting was of great benefit to both organizations, since they shared experiences, points of view, ideas and projects.
During this week the associations launched a cooperation agreement that they signed during Fitur 2010, in which the representatives of the hoteliers of Asturias and Colombia, together with Formastur (advisory company in consulting and training of the UHPA), agreed to meet in various days to share key aspects on the way to a hotel industry based on excellence and sustainability.
Additionally, Cotelco has shown its interest in the UHPA's it tool, which allows hoteliers to analyze their establishments and obtain the official parameters established, as well as practical conclusions to improve business management in terms of sustainability and environmental quality; as well as in the online information and reservation center that the UHPA put at the service of its hoteliers.
