Judy Dobin, executive vice president of Valley Forge Fabrics, recently received the highest level of recognition for a hospitality manufacturer, the 2010 Industry Award called Newh Icon, being the first woman to receive this award.Once the recognition was accepted, Judy said that "each of us must define our own inspiration. One must be true to oneself. It doesn't matter what other people find acceptable. I'm sure each person needs to set their own goals and norms, and then work as hard as possible to achieve them. Never settle, never give up and always, always strive to reach for the stars."
For the past six years, Newh has presented the Icon Industry Award to highlight those leading manufacturers in the hospitality industry. A Newh Icon has the following qualities: it must generate a significant impact on the industry through innovation, have been dedicated to communities and the industry through improvement, mentoring and education, and must also have a minimum of 30 years in the sector.
