The previous week, B3 was officially launched, a new hotel chain that will operate in Colombia under the concept of functional hotels for the business traveler, and that will operate in partnership with the administrator Trust Hospitality.
In conversation with HOTEL MANAGEMENT, Felipe Lloreda, general manager of Unika Promotora and leader of the project explained that these are new hotels that offer an economic rate for the business traveler, paying only the services he really needs:
"As a business traveler one seeks refreshing shower, comfortable bed, quiet rooms with windows, floors and anti-noise ceilings, television in every room, buffet breakfast and high-speed Internet."
As Lloreda explained, the concept of the hotel is to offer those services and eliminate expenses such as administration of a spa, gym, restaurant and other amenities that a frequent business traveler does not use: "We only charge for what the traveler uses, that allows us to have rates that are even 50% of the usual."
The first hotel of the chain will be ready in April 2012, in Carrera 15 of the Colombian capital, which gives an extra value to the property: "The location is key. In Bogotá you have many hotels on Calle 26, but in El Virrey the offer is limited. Location, amenities and good price are the pillars of our offer," said Lloreda.
The chain aspires to have 10 hotels in the coming years, in the most important cities of Colombia, for which they have several national investors.
