From October 24 to 25, the Hotel and Tourism Association of Colombia (Cotelco) will hold the first edition of the Seminario de Seguridad Hotelera y Empresarial. Juan Leonardo Correa, president of the entity spoke with HOTEL MANAGEMENT about the event.
Correa has the best expectations for the realization of this first space, which is also organized by S&P Group, which will be held at the Cosmos 100 Hotel and Convention Center in the city of Bogotá and which seeks to provide training on new trends in hotel security.
"It is a seminar that tends to deal with a topic that we have not talked about deeply in the country, and it is novel, because we will touch on topics such as the management of VIP clients, accident prevention, safety, among others; we also seek to delve into some legislative issues, to reinforce the perception of security in customers".
The head of Cotelco considers that in Colombia hotel security is good: "In Colombia, except for isolated cases, there has been no major news about hotel security. With these meetings what we seek is to reinforce knowledge on the subject, but we know that there is a certain complexity due to continuous innovation and therefore we want to give people the opportunity to learn about the latest news, "said Correa.
The seminar will feature talks given by recognized experts in the field: Risk Management in the Hotel Industry, Commitment to Public Safety in the Hotel Sector, Safety Requirements in Parks and Entertainment Devices in Hotel Facilities, Fire Protection, among others.
"It is a new seminar with important exhibitors who will deal with security not only from the institutional point of view but also with guests in mind," concluded Juan Leonardo Correa.
