In a recent meeting, Juan Leonardo Correa, president of the Asociación Hotelera de Colombia (Cotelco), and the American actor Danny Glover, goodwill ambassador of UNICEF, ratified the commitment made by national hoteliers in rejection of child sex tourism.
Glover toured some of the most important cities in that country, such as Bogotá, Cartagena and Medellín, and showed his satisfaction with the pact of responsibility of the cotelco member hotels in favor of children and their rights.
"The hotel industry and the tourism sector will continue to carry out actions that prevent and prevent sexual exploitation of children, and although much remains to be done, the actions carried out ratify the commitment of our unionized establishments in the construction of safe and efficient projects against this scourge," said the president of Cotelco.
In Cartagena, for example, there is the project "La Muralla soy yo", which seeks to promote corporate social responsibility aimed at the protection of minors through the linking and empowerment of the informal tourism sector and providing technical assistance to State entities, which allows detecting and articulating the Colombian judicial process.
