According to the latest report published by dane (National Administrative Department of Statistics) the income of Colombian hotels showed an increase of 12.8% during the month of February compared to the same month of the previous year.
Similarly, the occupancy record suffered an improvement of 2.9% during that month. When consolidating the information for the first two months of the year, the institution revealed that the percentage of hotel occupancy stood at 53.2% for an increase of 4.4%.
In addition to the above, when taking the results of the last twelve months, real income increased by 8.9% compared to the same period of the immediately previous year, period during which the increase was 4.8%.
On the other hand, the report made a characterization of the type of guests who stayed during the month of February in the different establishments of the country. In the case of Colombian residents, the role of business travelers stood out, which represented 44.7% of total users, followed by leisure travelers with 41.8%, while convention attendees represented 9.8%.
Likewise, for guests from abroad, travel reasons were also dominated by business with 55.2%, followed by leisure with 32.2% and conventions with 7.9%.
