In coordination with the Foreign Ministry, the Sociedad Hoteles del Perú (SHP) undertook a campaign to allow Peruvians who worked in the hotel market in European countries and who, due to the crisis, are unemployed to return to the country and thereby improve their working and economic conditions.
The objective is to relocate returning people to the jobs that will be enabled with the opening of the new hotels that are about to open in Peru in the remainder of 2012.
According to Tibisay Monsalve, general manager of the Association, today there are luxury establishments that will begin to operate soon and qualified personnel are required to occupy the different jobs.
In Europe, priority is being given to professionals from their countries and they are leaving aside high-level personnel who can carry out their work without any inconvenience in Peru.
"The positions that are required include account executives, cleaning and maintenance staff, as well as cooks, waiters, assistants in hotel restaurants and bellboys, among others," the official said.
According to Monsalve, as a result of the campaign, some 100 resumes have been received to date, of which 50 have been taken into account. "Most of these people come from Spain, Germany, France, Italy and Britain," he said.
To facilitate the process , the interview stage will be carried out through the Internet.
In addition to the hotels that will open this year, it is expected that during the next two years a series of projects belonging to internationally recognized firms that plan to expand in Lima and in the interior of Peru will be implemented.
