With an investment of $152 billion Colombian pesos, about US$84 million, the Hoteles Estelar chain seeks to consolidate its presence in the Andean region with three new properties.
In addition to Colombia, the chain's country of origin, Estelar is increasingly consolidated in Peru, where they hope to open a hotel of the brand in the tourist city par excellence of Cuzco and later expand to destinations such as Trujillo and Chiclayo.
Miguel Díez Trujillo, president of the company, explained that "Peru is a culturally similar country to Colombia and with similar annual economic growth, which makes it an ideal market to replicate our model."
This will be possible thanks to the good financial results of the company; According to the official, operating income during 2011 reached $181 billion pesos (US$100 million), and for this year they expect a growth of 14% that would allow them to reach 206,000 million (US$114 million) in profits.
