International. In the first half of 2012, the Meliá Hotels International hotel chain increased its revenue by 24%, compared to the same period of the previous year, to reach a net profit of $10 million euros.
The company said that these good results are due to the growth reported by its hotels in Germany, France, the United States and Russia. The company also assured that with this balance they exceeded their expectations for the period.
In other reported figures, the consolidated EBITDA of the hotel chain reached 105 million euros for an increase of 0.2%, as well as an increase in average income per room of 8.5%.
As for the expectations for the remainder of the year, the company expects to compensate for the difficulties in the Spanish domestic market with the positive evolution of its properties in other countries in Europe and in Latin America.
