Recently, a campaign was carried out in the Estelar hotels of the main Colombian cities to promote the quality of Peruvian gastronomy in the coffee country.
According to Julio César Valdivia, chef of the Estelar Hotel in Miraflores, Bogotá, Cali, Medellín, Cartagena and Barranquilla were the cities that could enjoy the flavors of Peru.
For 45 days, a variety of typical Peruvian dishes were presented, so diners, according to Valdivia, were impressed not only by the quality but also by the variety and exquisiteness of the flavors.
"For the people who already knew her (Bogotá and Cali) it was to ratify the true Peruvian flavor, but for the people who had just knowledge (Medellín, Cartagena and Medellín) it has been a great experience, especially in the use of chili pepper as a flavoring and not to sting," the chef explained to the travel portal Travel Update.
Thanks to this promotion and the success obtained during it, the Estelar Hotels chain in Colombia made the decision to expand its menus and include in them the main Peruvian dishes.
"After talking with the chefs and managers of the Colombian hotel chain, they have all made the decision to include Peruvian dishes in their menu since they have been fascinated by the high quality and, at the same time, recognized that the gastronomy of our country is among the leaders worldwide," said Julio César Valdivia.
La Causa and Cebiche, typical dishes of the Inca country, had very high demand from Colombian diners.
In addition, in a process of cultural exchange, the chef commented that his restaurant will include every Saturday the Colombian Buffet, with the aim of making known, both Peruvians and foreigners who stay there, the richness of Colombian dishes.
