The V edition of the South American Hotel & Tourism Investment Conference (SAHIC) came to an end, which brought together more than 500 participants from Argentina, Colombia, Brazil, Ecuador, Chile, Peru, Mexico, Uruguay, Bolivia, usa and Spain, among others, a record attendance and that as a closing, announced the organization of its next conference in Colombia.
"While there was a lot of expectation for the conference in Peru, the result shows that expectations were exceeded," said Arturo García Rosa, president of SAHIC and HVS South America.
The results of this meeting will be seen in the near future and I believe that it will not be beyond a year, when the event is organized for the second time in Colombia, this time in the capital, in Bogotá, "said García Rosa. The event had already been held in the country, in Cartagena more exactly.
On the prospects for the sector in the region, García Rosa indicated that "it is a reality that the South American region is going through a very special moment within the context of what is happening in the world economy. The housing bubble crisis of 2008 did not affect our countries like the previous crises, and neither did this new crisis; then, the future is promising."
The conference was attended by prestigious speakers, including Roland de Bonadona, CEO Latin America, Accor; Daniel del Olmo, SVP and Managing Director, Latin America and & Brand SVP; TRYP by Wyndham, Wyndham Hotel Group; Thorsten Kirschke, president, Americas, Carlson Hotels; Deborah Négrel, vice President, Caribbean & Latin America Development MGM Hospitality; Patrick McCudden, Senior Vice President, Real Estate & Development Latin America, Global Hyatt Corporation; Ricardo Montaudon, President & Executive Director, RCI Latin America and Jaume Tapies, President, Relais & Chateau, among others.
