Benchmark Hospitality International recently announced the addition of Bonaventure Resort & Spa, located in Fort Lauderdale, to its growing management portfolio. This makes the resort the sixth property under benchmark Hospitality's management in Florida.
According to Burt Cabañas, president and CEO of the organization "it is a real pleasure to welcome Bonaventure Resort & Spa to Benchmark Hospitality. The resort's rich heritage in South Florida and its exceptional legacy in the meetings industry will be of great benefit in reintroducing this gem of hospitality to the market."
Bonaventure Resort & Spa, previously known as the Hyatt Regency Bonaventure hotel, was recently acquired by Hospitality Investing Group LLC, which plans a multimillion-dollar renovation of the resort.
"This reflects our repositioning strategy to offer an independent luxury resort and conference center in South Florida," said Ari Pearl, partner at Hospitality Investing Group.
Pearl explained that "improvements to the conference center will include extensive renovation of public spaces, advanced technology in meetinghouses, and an increasing use of ergonomic furniture. In addition, 48,000 square feet (4,400 m2) of space will be added; it will include renovations to the lobby and a new concept and expansion of the resort's main restaurant."
Bonaventure Resort & Spa is situated in a 23-acre paradise in South Florida (near Fort Lauderdale) and features 500 luxury rooms, four restaurants, multiple pools, and a top-notch spa.
The property offers a 60,000-square-foot (5,600 m2) conference center, including a 175-seat auditorium, making it ideal for corporate meetings of all sizes.
