By signing a collaboration agreement, Siemens and Accenture have teamed up to create intelligent control solutions for buildings to improve public energy grids.
In the agreement, the two companies acquired the commitment to develop various advanced measurement equipment for infrastructures (AMI) and solutions to manage and measure data (MDM). With this, they seek to collect useful information on the activity of the energy network of a place to make decisions focused on increasing operational efficiency and reducing the response time to any problem.
As stated in the agreement, Accenture, from its Smart Grid area, will support the consulting, systems integration and managed services part for smart meters and analysis solutions.
For its part, Siemens will be in charge of providing the data management platform called eMeter EnergyIP and providing professional services.
According to Siemens "the increase in the use of smart meters is essential to promote the improvement of energy efficiency and establish a greater use of renewable energies, such as solar or wind, to achieve a more sustainable system".
