By applying new thermal insulation technologies in its plants, the Lego factory located in Monterrey, Mexico, promotes the generation of energy-efficient and sustainable buildings.
This was announced by the company during the workshop held in that town on Energy efficiency in commercial and industrial roofs for sustainable certification, an activity organized by the National Commission for the Efficient Use of Energy.
During the activity, knowledge was exchanged about energy saving on reflective surfaces, new methods in the construction of roofs that will not only reflect solar radiation, but will reduce the temperature of buildings and save energy in air conditioning.
In this context, lego's implementation of the RoofPoint system was discussed as a success story. This system corresponds to a certification initiative for roofs in which efficiency is measured and uses recycled materials in its construction. Likewise, it offers benefits such as improvement in air quality, prolongation of the useful life of the construction and improvement of the safety of the occupants of the property.
