The French company Sodexo, one of the most representative brands in the facility management and catering market, has strengthened its presence in India with the acquisition of the company MacLellan.
Although the firm did not reveal the financial details of the agreement, it announced the negotiation contemplated the acquisition of MacLellan's operations in what has to do with cleaning services, catering, garden care, electrical and mechanical installations and all kinds of services and procedures specialized in corporate companies in the computer sectors, health, education and automobiles.
The acquired company has a strong presence in south India, which suggests that in that region of the country Sodexo will lead the network of this type of companies.
For Sodexo, the acquisition will help the company double its turnover growing at a rate of 15 to 20%, forecasts that the company makes with a vision until 2015.
This new negotiation will also help Sodexo expand its current customer base from 350 to 1,000, as well as the personal force employed from 34,000 to 40,000.
According to Sunil Nayak, Managing Director of Sodexo, "Facilities management services are growing rapidly in India, and we are trying to focus more on the consumer. Our goal is the first choice of customers, to specialize in outsourcing services and to improve the performance of our services."
