The contract between Alstom Power and Petrobras (Paraguay headquarters) was renewed for seven more years, which contemplates the maintenance of part of the Brazilian company's industrial machinery: 11 gas turbines, four steam turbines and 14 generators installed in the combined cycle power plants of Governador Leonel Brizola (Termorio), Fernando Gasparian (Piratininga) and Celso Furtado (Termobahia).
The extended contract contains technical assistance services and the supply of spare parts for marked and unmarked maintenance on the three floors.
"This new contract reflects Petrobras' confidence in the skills of our services. Brazil is a key market for Alstom Power and offers incredible prospects; that's why over the past few years we have consistently developed service resources to better serve the installed base in the region," said Hans-Peter Meer, Senior Vice President, Alstom Thermal Services.
Alstom has maintained this contract with Petrobras since 2003 when commercial operations of the Celso Furtado power plant began. Subsequently, the company, through its good management, won the contracts of the Governador Leonel Brizola and Fernando Gasparian plants in 2004.
For the service company, the renewal of this agreement represents a great achievement thanks to the fact that Petrobras is one of the largest companies in the region in the field of exploitation, production, refining, sale and transportation of natural gas / oil, petrochemical products, as well as the distribution of petroleum products, energy, biofuels and other renewable energy sources.
