The evident lack of maintenance becomes the most urgent situation to be resolved at the Manuel Rivera Sánchez del Chimbote Centennial Stadium, Peru; the main sports venue of the town.
As reported by the Peruvian newspaper Correo, when touring the stadium facilities, the deficiencies of the infrastructure of the place are evident. As an example, he points out the mesh that surrounds the area in front of the western tribune of the place, in some areas, says the publication, it is tied and patched with wires "in an improvised way".
The north stand presents the same problem, there the broken meshes are fastened with metallic thread and the garbage is part of the landscape of the bathrooms; similarly, one of the sink faucets is out of tune, resulting in an incalculable waste of water and money.
The aforementioned newspaper also reported that according to some workers of the place there was recently a flood in the lower part of the south stand caused by a drinking water connection that was in poor condition.
The Provincial Municipality of Santa (MPS) has not yet managed to brush the stadium grass despite the multiple expressions of discomfort that the galvanistas players have expressed and that the administrator of the sports center, Carlos Rivadeneyra, had asked the Municipality to buy a machine for it.
"Recently the Gómez Arellano stadium was declared unsuitable by Civil Defense for the development of official sports shows, especially because of its infrastructure," reported Correo.
