For an amount exceeding US$2 million, the official Education Agency of Argentina summoned companies in the school maintenance sector to participate in the tender that plans to contract the maintenance of the schools of Bariloche, Viedma and General Roca.
The offers will begin to be received from this week and it is expected that the work can begin from the months of May or June.
For not exceeding the amount of 1.1 million Argentine pesos, the tender for the different buildings of General Roca and Bariloche will be carried out through a private tender, this according to the latest update of the Public Works Council, in its resolution No. 2/2012 – a call for public bidding is required.
In the rest of the schools, Education transferred this work to the municipalities, including the recently incorporated Villa Regina and Cipolletti. Previously, the program of minor spare parts that depended on Public Works was implemented in those cities, but his minister Fernando Vaca Narvaja agreed with his counterpart, Marcelo Mango, to transfer it for this year. In February, Vaca Narvaja understood that the education portfolio has "greater territorial control" for its execution.
In Public Works, Vaca Narvaja had already used the private bidding scheme, with a draw in the group's definition.
The main difference between public and private bidding is competition. In the first, the degree of compulsion is total, since all those interested can participate while in the private one those who have been invited compete. The subsequent process is the same, except that it differs in the ways of convening potential suppliers.
