International. ASHRAE has indicated that its next HPB High Performance Building conference will be held April 7-8, 2014 in San Francisco, California.
Building on the last High Performance Buildings Conference in 2012 and the 2009 Net-Zero Energy Conference, the 2014 conference aims to deepen the industry's efforts to achieve a true high-performance environment in built environments.
As commented by conference President Kent Peterson, this 2014 HPB Conference is a unique opportunity to exchange views among attendees, so that a better understanding of current indoor environmental quality and energy-saving efforts can be facilitated by sharing best practices for achieving high-performance buildings."
The conference topics will provide a clear and comprehensive view of high-performance building design with a focus on strategies in several areas, Peterson said. New areas include: water efficiency, building occupant behavior, new technologies in new buildings, and indoor environmental quality. In addition, there will be a greater emphasis on daylight/light and building envelope.
A session will be presented with the study of a case on "Performance Measurement" and "Performance Model". The conference will include guest speakers, as well as the participation of speakers and agendas to be announced in the autumn of this year.
Peterson said that, at this conference, attendees will be able to analyze the necessary synergy between indoor environmental quality and energy savings through advanced HPB design, as well as contact other HPB professionals. The Conference will be featured in ASHRAE's High Performing Buildings magazine, the industry's leading source of information for measuring performance, best practices and technologies, to promote better buildings.
