International. The general services company ISS managed to obtain ISO 50001 certification in its office in Spain. Compliance with this international standard guarantees that the company's facilities in that country have implemented a policy that improves the use, consumption and energy efficiency.
Specifically, it has been its office located in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat in the city of Barcelona that has received this certification, and that, as the company explains in a statement, shows its commitment to obtain greater control over energy demand.
"The ISO 50001 standard guarantees that the workplace has experienced an improvement in terms of use, consumption and energy efficiency through the implementation of a series of measures whose main objective is to increase the competitiveness of the office by combining economic cost savings and greater preservation of the environment", explains the company.
While Joaquim Borrás, executive president of ISS Spain, affirms that "we are very proud to have obtained this certification because it means that we are fulfilling our commitment to minimize the environmental impact of our daily activity."
Borrás also added that "we have been reducing the use of plastic containers and chemical pollutants for years and helping our customers to optimize water consumption and reduce the emission of CO2 gases."
