Aruba. Facial recognition systems, state-of-the-art doors and four expansion works are the projects that are currently being carried out at the Reina Beatrix Airport in Aruba, in order to offer visitors to this renowned tourist destination the best possible facilities when entering the country.
The first project is the construction of an area of approximately 400 square meters, with conditioned seating for 180 people, bathrooms and food court, which will accommodate passengers traveling with airlines using the airport's remote parking lots. US$1.3 million will be invested in this room.
With an investment of US$7.2 million, two new parking positions will be created for category C aircraft (type Airbus A321, Boeing 737, among others), which will include the provision of LED running lights and fuel wells.
For its part, in the south wing of the terminal, reserved for private planes, a US$1.2 million work will be carried out that will increase the parking positions from 14 to 25, in addition to the installation of LED lights for assistance in the taxiing, the construction of a helipad and two new exits.
Finally, a complete replacement of the airport lighting with LED luminaires is being carried out, the installation includes lights used in the terminal, taxiways, runway edges and control panels. For this project, US$4.8 million was available, for a total invested in all the works of US$14.6 million.
