Colombia. The construction statistics for the fourth quarter of last year published by dane (National Administrative Department of Statistics), revealed that despite the general fall in construction rates, the figure for the office and hospital sector showed an increase.
In the case of the construction of office buildings, for the period from October to December 2014 this area presented an increase of 10 percent, while for hospitals the increase was 2.7 percent.
In contrast, the commercial building sector showed a 6.6 percent reduction in its new construction figures, from two million square meters under construction to 1.93 million square meters. In addition to the above, the report also revealed that housing construction slowed down in the last quarter of the year.
