International. An ambitious remodeling plan to create a new corporate headquarters with open spaces, transparent ceilings and modular interiors that can be reconfigured, Google has revealed for its headquarters in the town of Mountain View in California, USA.
To achieve this, the technology company will demolish many of the current buildings and replace them with new buildings with various innovations that seek to offer its employees the best possible work environment.
This was made known by company spokespersons in an article published on its corporate blog under the title "Rethinking office spaces". The article stated that "as we have inhabited a wide variety of workplaces, we have learned something about what makes an office space the best and we are very happy to put this into practice."
The company also said that its goal is, instead of building immovable cement buildings, to create lightweight structures that can be easily moved to adapt to the company's growth.
One of the main elements of the proposed design is that each building will be covered by transparent vaults that will allow to control the atmosphere inside and guarantee a great luminosity.
"We seek to blur the separation between our buildings and outside nature with the use of gardens and bike paths that will be interspersed with those structures," Google said.
