Mexico. In the last five years, companies dedicated to solar energy grew 1,200 percent according to information published by the National Solar Energy Association. Similarly, this entity revealed that the value of the distributed solar energy generation market exceeds 8 billion dollars, and could generate half a million direct jobs in the following six years.
Since 2010 the increase in the number of companies in Mexico dedicated to this area is remarkable, five years ago there were 46 companies dedicated to the solar sector while by the end of 2014 the figure increased to 600.
Alberto Valdés Palacios, president of the National Association of Solar Energy (ANES), said in a statement that "the characteristics of distributed generation provide a very versatile spectrum for companies of different sizes; in addition to the nature of its facilities classified within this segment, it is possible to incorporate SMEs into the market, which becomes the best option for electricity generation by solar radiation".
Similarly, Valdés stressed that the demand for trained personnel to perform tasks in supply, design, installation, research and development of solutions for the solar sector is also experiencing a good moment with more and more companies that require these services.
