Chile. A study on real estate supply carried out by the companies Adimark and the Association of Real Estate Developers (ADI), revealed that the sale of properties for the first quarter of 2015 increased by 15.4% in the Santiago area of Chile. This increase was especially noticeable in the sale of homes despite the increase in the price per square meter.
As explained by the manager of the real estate area of Adimark, Javier Varleta, to local media, the main reason for this market behavior is the recent tax reform approved in the country, which would cause a greater number of properties available before the decision of the citizens to sell and buy land before it enters into effect.
As for the increase in prices, the study indicates that the value of the square meter rose by 1.9%.
