Mexico. An alliance between Banco Santander, the construction company ICA and several private investors will allow the creation of a wind power plant in the city of Reynosa, Mexico, according to Bernardo Quintana, president of ICA.
Although this project will be developed by the company independently, it is connected to two other hydropower generation initiatives planned in Oaxaca and Veracruz that are born from an agreement recently established by the company with the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) for the development of power generation projects.
The Reynosa wind project will provide clean energy to both ICA and other allied companies such as Grupo Aeroportuario Centro Norte (OMA), hotel establishments and a banking group, Quintana explained.
The official also pointed out that the initiative is in its infancy and it takes approximately two years for its construction and commissioning to be completed.
