Spain. ISS Spain was one of the six companies and administrations distinguished in the framework of the third edition of the European Diversity Forum for understanding and managing the differences that exist between its workers as a strategic component of business growth.
The forum, held at the Palau Macaya in Barcelona, was attended by the President of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Artur Mas, who presented one of the 'European Diversity Forum' awards to the executive president of ISS Spain, Joaquim Borrás.
"Raising awareness about the need for good management of diversity as well as the social problems associated with its neglect was precisely one of the most recurrent ideas in the course of the Forum, which since its first edition aims to be one of the reference meetings for reflection in this area where members of civil society, the business fabric and the scientific, university and political worlds can come together and share common interests," ISS said in a statement.
In addition, the company announced that it has a workforce of more than 30,000 employees in Spain, of which about 1,200 were at risk of social exclusion, more than 1,300 who suffer some type of disability and about 2,000 are immigrants from 72 different nationalities.
"ISS is an integrating company that enthusiastically assumes the management of diversity as part of its values and organizational culture and, in this sense, we want to continue putting all our effort at the service of a society more committed to this cause," said Borrás.
