Peru. The Peruvian government is preparing to award the operating concessions of the Air Terminals of Jauja, Jaén and Huánco in 2016. That concession shall include, inter alia, the responsibility on the part of the selected private operator to renovate and improve the infrastructure of those airports.
"The process is scheduled for next year, however the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) has an objective that is to make improvements in those airports, raise the standard and improve services so that when the time comes for the concession they have a service of better conditions," the spokesmen of the Ministry assured local media.
The planned improvements in these terminals are directly related to the number of passengers expected by the country's aeronautical authorities. For the year 2014, for example, 16.7 million passengers were registered in the country on both domestic and international flights, which requires a better infrastructure that allows to meet this demand in the best possible way.
