International. The international association ASHRAE published its new manual for HVAC applications, which includes among its more than 60 chapters and 1,200 pages two sections of interest to building managers, these are the chapters on Systems for smart buildings and Humidity management in buildings.
While the manual covers a wide range of facilities and topics, its primary goal is to assist design engineers in the use of HVAC equipment and systems. However, the 2015 edition includes for the first time Chapter 61 of Systems for Smart Buildings, which talks about technologies that allow fault detection, automatic diagnostics, sensors and actuators, as well as modern smart grids and their relationship with buildings and facilities.
For its part, Chapter 62 addresses the theme of Humidity Management in Buildings, including tips to avoid or reduce the risks associated with the presence of moisture in buildings, with suggestions for architectural design, the air conditioning system, operation and occupation.
This manual is available on the ASHRAE website.
