Chile. The Chilean insurance company Consolidated recently acquired the Flor de Azucenas Building from the real estate company Eurocorp, a property recognized for having the LEED Platinum certification in the Shell & Core category.
According to statements to local media by Ramiro Figueroa, deputy manager of Real Estate Investments of Chilena Consolidada, "this acquisition is part of the company's investment strategy in the real estate field, an area that includes assets for rent, financial leasing and mutual mortgages. For the rest of the year we plan to integrate more properties into our portfolio of rental investments."
The executive also added that acquiring projects that have LEED certification is part of his objectives. "In our portfolio of buildings we have LEED certified one in platinum category, one in Gold category and two more in the process of certification," he said.
The operation was completed for a value of US $ 24 million and was carried out under the "sale and lease" modality, that is, the seller of the property will remain in the building as a tenant of the same.
