Colombia. The José María Córdova International Airport, located in Rionegro and serving the city of Medellín, Colombia's second largest, began a process of expansion and remodeling that will last for 24 months.
Among the works included in this project are the expansion of the passenger terminal by 9,494 square meters, which will include two new boarding bridges in the national area and three for international flights.
In addition, the remodeling of 2,750 square meters of the existing terminal, expansion of the aircraft parking platform to the international sector, resurfacing of the runway and improvement of internal pedestrian mobility both in public areas and for passengers in transit will be advanced.
To carry out these works, a total of $243,713 million pesos (US$93 million) will be invested and it is expected that all the works will be completed by the second half of 2017.
