. The Council of Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) announced the four regional winners of the award for Best Tall Building of the year 2015, in November the body will choose one of these four as the absolute winner of this award.
For the Americas region, the recognition was contested by two buildings in New York, One World Trade Center and the Baccarat Hotel & Residences, and one in Mexico, La Torre Virreyes.
The Mexican building is 130 meters high, 28 floors, 21 elevators and 2,238 parking spaces. It also has LEED Platinum certification, helipad, solar panels, water collectors and systems for the reuse of rainwater.
Finally, the One World Trade Center was chosen as the most outstanding property for the Americas region. For his part, CaptainGreen, from Singapore; Bosco Verticale, milan; and the Burj Mohammed Bin Rashid Tower in Abu Dhabi were awarded this distinction for Asia, Europe and the Middle East/Africa.
