Colombia. Every month Colombia adds an average of 4 buildings to the list of properties in search of LEED certification, as Cristina Gamboa, director of the Colombian Council of Sustainable Construction (CCCS), told local media.
In June, 5 new buildings entered the list, but in total Colombia has 55 certified buildings, nine of them in the standard category, 3 in the platinum category, 24 in gold and 19 in silver, to which are added 127 registered in twenty different cities of the country, whose certification process is underway.
The capital Bogotá, along with its nearby municipalities, registers the highest number of properties with or in search of LEED certification, followed in number by cities such as Medellín, Cartagena and Barranquilla.
In square meters, the certified area so far reaches almost one million, while adding the properties in search of certification the figure reaches 3.7 million square meters.
