International. The Spanish Society of Facility Management (IFMA) has presented its Good & Best Practices awards at an event where the Best Research Article 2015 has also been recognized.
Of the projects presented, five Good Practices were selected, Espacio Aretha, two projects by Vodafone, JG Ingenieros and Neinver, of which neinver's project 'Implementation of a new maintenance system for the sanitation network of shopping centres' has been awarded as Best Practice, based on the application of bacteriological treatments that degrade organic matter and accumulated sediments.
The event, organized by IFMA Spain, also awarded the 'Best Research Article 2015', both for students and professionals of Facility Management.
In the category of students, the first prize went to Guillermo Álvarez Robles, student of the FM Master's Degree at the European University of Madrid, with his article on 'Implementation of Facility Management in the Industrial Sector of SMEs in the central peninsular area'. While José Luis Esteban Chimeno, student of the FM Master at the European University of Madrid, has obtained a second prize with his article 'Systems Integration in Facility Management. Intelligent Building Management'.
As for the professional category, the runner-up has been for Carlota Pascual Sequero, with her article "Millennials get on the bus".
Vicente Redondo, president of IFMA Spain highlighted at the awards ceremony that "the professionalism of all the practices and articles presented demonstrate, once again, the rise of Facility Management in our country and its importance as a key tool for any company that wants to be competitive".
