Nicaragua. Managua continues to seek height with new construction projects and this week the works of the first green building in the country began, which will have international certifications.
The announcement was made by Yugoslav Cuculiza, CEO of Plaza Centroamérica, who detailed that the building will have eight floors and on its ground floor that it will be a commercial plaza. The other flats may be rented or purchased to be used as offices. Each floor will have an area of 805 square meters.
Additionally, it is expected to have 300 parking spaces. The investment for this work is US$10.5 million.
The project promoted by Edificios Comerciales S.A. (Edicosa) will also be, according to the company's projections, the first LEED (Leader in Energy & Environmental Design) building in Nicaragua with certification from the Green Construction Council of the United States.
It will include elements related to energy efficiency, efficiency in water consumption, sustainable development of free spaces and careful selection of materials.
This new building will be located on the northwest side of the Central America roundabout in Managua.
